We Need Your Help!

Could you be an event co-ordinator? Many hands make light work – this would suit a ‘jobshare’ with individuals contacting one speaker per year, for example – and following through with managing that presentation and e-mail follow-up. Good professional experience if you have not done this before … and good on your CV…

Sarah Wakelin stepped down from her role as Events Coordinator at the end of Summer 2022, so we are urgently seeking members to join our committee!  This is such important input helping our members deliver support to students with specific learning difficulties.

Post: Events Coordinator

Role: Locating and booking speakers: with the help of the committee, you will source speakers for presentations (either online or in person) which will attract and be useful to our members.

Commitment: in addition to the termly presentation evenings, one evening committee meeting a term – in person in Basingstoke or by Zoom. We aim to keep meetings brief.

Keeping in contact via email with other members of the committee

Correspondence with speakers: liaise with speakers, providing necessary information to aid them to present to the group either online or in person.

Managing speaker on the night: check that their technology is working and ensuring you have their presentation to hand if not.
Emailing certificate of attendance and presentation notes: post presentation.

Experience: none, although helpful if you: are not afraid to speak to people, can use email and zoom, are organised and can work to a schedule.
